I want to first Cover how to upload a photo from your camera to your computer.

1. Take A Picture
2. Then You Need to Connect Your Camera to Your Computer, you do this by connecting a usb cord to your camera. On most cameras you’ll find a small rectangle shape plug-in where you can insert a cord. Once you plug the camera in then , connect the wire to your usb port on your computer. Make sure you turn your camera on.
3. Once your camera is hooked up to your computer, your computer should recognize a new device, and should install the new device. Once your computer recognizes your camera, your computer will then ask you to: (Import Photos Using Windows, View Photos, Copy Disc, Import and View Your Files on a Editing Software
4. You can upload your photo’s using Windows, or Your Editing Software.
5. Once your photos are uploaded, the folder where your photos went will pop up. Now you have the option to view your pictures or edit them. Once you are finished, remember where they are, (Name the Folder)
6. And now you are done.

Second How to Upload from Your Computer to the Internet

1. You can either Click insert image, or upload photo button on whatever web page you are on.
2. Once you click insert image or upload, then you want to browse your computer for the photo.
3. Now find your photo, go to the folder name, and click the folder then scroll and find your photo, and click open. (this will in turn upload your photo)
4. Now you’re Done

The Third Method of Uploading a Photo from a CD or Floppy Disk

1. If your unsure about loading photo’s by yourself, take your photos to a photo store, and have them put your photo’s on a CD for you, or Floppy Disk
2. Now insert your CD or Floppy Disk into the appropriate Spot.
3. Okay Click, insert photo, or upload photo, now your need to browse your computer again, but this time you want to browse your particular drive. What I mean is if you inserted a Floppy disc, you’ll be browsing your A Drive, if you insert a CD or DVD Disc you’ll be browsing a E: or D: Drive it just depends on the computer that you are using.
4. Now Once you find the appropriate drive click the drive, then browse for the photo, once you find the photo, click open. Then your photo will be uploaded to the web.

Go to eBay, and then click on the Site Map, Scroll to the eBay Pulse.  You need to bypass the first page, click the more pulse link, then categories.  This should help give you ideas, on what products to sell and what not.

A good key here is to know how to use the eBay site map.  Click the Site Map again, then look for the category, called More Ways to Find Items.  Here you can find what people are searching for the most.  Most Popular Searches, completed auctions, and much more.

Data Analysis, this will take you to a page, where you can find programs, that track ended eBay auctions.  Market Research programs, or Market Analysis programs are vital to success on eBay.  Don’t play a guessing game, here you need to know the pricing on certain  products before you buy them.  This way you’ll know if you can make a profit even before you buy a particular item.   Product research will also enable you to find hot categories, and what products are selling well in these particular categories. This is a must for any eBay business, or anyone planning to start a eBay business.

Another great resource to use to find products in Hammertap.  Which this is a product that can track all the data on ebay.  I can pretty much tell you how many of each particular item has sold on eBay in the last 30 days.  Not to mention give you the average sales price, the chance that the particular item will sell on eBay.  I know they even give you great video tutuorials, and lot more.

The First Step

Brainstorm your ideas, and put them on paper.  I recommend keeping a daily business journal of sorts.  This way you can plan what you need to accomplish each and every day.  Not to mention keep track of any ideas that pop into your head during the day.  Don’t forget to do a daily recap at the end of the day, to analyze your self and your productivity.  This is a great tool to help you with time management.

All successful e-business starts from an idea, and bloom that idea so to speak.  No better way to take a course of action on that ideal is a Business Plan.  A business plan should cover: Objectives – Approach – Resources Needed – Marketing Plan – Marketing Strategy - Short Term & long Term Goals – How to Find Products – A budget.

Its always a good idea to read over your business plan quarterly.  This way you can track your achievement and see what area you could use some improvement in.

Second Step

In order to be a successful e-commerce business, you must be legit.  Meaning you need to get a state sales tax id, This sounds scary but its not. Just spend about 10 minuets and you’ll get your tax-id.

Next we would recommend getting a Federal Tax ID or a EIN Number, setting up the basics now, will save lots of time and headaches in the future.

In most case you will need to, have a legit business name set up, a sole proprietor, corporation, etc.  An attorney should be able to set this up for you for about $200 plus any state fees.   Not to mention a state retail license certificate, this is another simple process, just check out you local state website for information on this.  Some Wholesale Companies will not work with you  without the above listed numbers, and certificates.  Setting up a business isn’t that hard but make sure you do it right the first time. Step 3

Organize yourself, set your office up.  Get your computer up and running install additional software that you might need to run your business.  (Quicken Books will Save You Lots of Time Here) Set up a Website, this is a MUST, educate yourself, there are lots of great books on this topic. Your website is an impression on your business so take your time.  Remember keep it simple, make it so people can find what they want easily.

For eBay Businesses and other on-line sites, a nice photo area would be good to set up, something with a couple different backgrounds.  Don’t spend big dollars here, you can get a Photo Cube / Deflector for around $50.00.  I would recommend a nice photo editing software, Mac & Windows users should have a program already installed.  A print-shop program will also be helpful, it creates great flier’s, banners, business cards etc.  (Remember support the fellow e-commerce websites and buy your stuff on-line) You can find everything you need on eBay.

Look into getting business insurance as well, as you’ll never know when this might come in handy.  Don’t forget to get a phone service.  Don’t use your cellphone, I suggest getting a separate line. This way you always know the call is about business, and you can track and monitor the calls.

Step Four

You will need products to sell. I know this can be very tricky, don’t go and spend big dollars on so called wholesale list.  If you look on the net, you’ll find thousands of so called list.  Be careful where you get your information from, do your homework before you dive right in and spend lots of $$.  This step might not apply to you if your setting up a consignment store, and don’t want to buy wholesale.  If consignment is your choice you need to focus more on advertising!

I recommend selling items that for say you might buy yourself.  It makes running a business more enjoyable when the products you are selling you are passionate about.  Not to mention these will be items you know a lot about.  So you’ll be able to be an expert (so to speak) and have a better chance of selling the products.  (Its hard to sell a Culinary Knife to a Chef if you don’t know what you are talking about ex.)

I recommend Brainstorming on this one: meaning write down your hobbies and what you like. Then take it one step further and make subcategories (ex.  You like Major League Baseball – Sub Category would be Baseball Cards – Another Category would be 1950′s Topps Baseball Cards) It might be hard to find a constant supply of 1950′s baseball cards to sell, but you get the idea.  Please refer to my free: wholesale, and drop-shipping list.

Step Five

Advertising, Marketing these two words go hand in hand.  You need to let the world know who you are.  Your website is a great start, its the door-mate so to speak of your business.  It doesn’t hurt to do some pay per clicks, through google to get people to your site.  Doing a press release through yahoo is a another great idea, is cost $80, but will get you notice in the community and on the web!  Another key point is to identify your target audience.  This way you can develop a marketing strategy base on your target audience. (does your target audience use public transportation, if so advertise on papers the consumers read on public transportation, signs are great as well)

Advertise in local papers, not the big one.  Starting a small business can be costly, but if you manage budget you’ll be just fine.  Don’t run out and market in the big papers just yet, they cost general 50% to 75% more than the local free papers. (ex. in Chicago it Cost $63 to place an add in the Chicago Tribune, for one week, and Cost $28 to place the in the Chicago Reader a local free paper) Another free tip is, community bulletin boards, yes people actually read these!

2. How to insert audio on your site:

This one took me a while, but you can do it. First you must download an audio program to your computer. (I use audacity, its free) Next you must buy a microphone, to plug into your computer.

Once you have these two items open up audacity and make a voice recording.

Then when you go to save the voice recording, export the file as a wav. file, then save it to your desktop.

Next you then upload your wav. file on your website. Once your file is uploaded, you have just created a new web page.

To place your audio where ever you would like you’d use a tag like this. < src=”http://your web address/audiofilename.wav” WIDTH=”320″ HEIGHT= “300″ AUTOSTART=”true”LOOP=”">< /embed>

This tag will make the audio file, play immediately when the page is opened. To keep the sound from playing immediately when the page loads, type AUTOSTART=”FALSE”, Just get rid of the true, and replace it with false. This will give you audio. I use this to place my voice on my eBay auctions. Let me know if you have any questions in regards to this.

Keywords: Tips:

Have you wondered what keywords your competition is using to attract customers to their sites? Here is how to view their keywords. Go to a successful competitors website, and then right click on the page. Choose to View the Source from the right click menu, and now you see their html code. Simple scroll through the code and find metatage keywords, and now you know what words they are using.

You can use their words, but try and find some keywords off your own. This is so eventually your site will be above their site in the rankings. This is also a great way, to get html.codes for cool things you see on other peoples sites! Hope this Helps

Its Fake, any Sites Like Paypal, and eBay will always address you by first and last name. Remember This: They will always address you by First and Last Name.

How about an e-mail, that states you have a TKO Notice, or eBay member wants their money back etc.

Always first check your eBay account. Messages from eBay, and any messages from a eBay member, will be in your eBay Message Account First.

Stay away from e-mails from Wholesale Companies in China. Most e-mails that state, we have top of the Line products, watches, shoes, t-shirts..etc, a lady by the name of Annie

Chances are they are Fake as well. If your really curious, do some research.. Google the companies name in the e-mail, see what kind of information you can find about the company first. Under no circumstances should, you buy something with out first doing your research about a company, unless you trust the Source.

If you ever have a question about an e-mail from eBay or Paypal. Send the e-mail to their spoof department. They will usally respond back to you in a couple hours letting you know if its fake or legit. For example Forward a Suspicious e-mail from eBay to : spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com.

Tips to Remeber, Make sure the Money is in your paypal Account. Any e-mail stating they will wire the money to your account, once they get a tracking number from you is fake.

First you must decide what you want to sell, I always recommend selling something that you are passionate about. Sell items that you would actually go out and buy yourself. The reason you sell things is to make money, but selling things you enjoy will make it fun.

1. Write Letters to businesses, I know this sounds a little old fashion, but you could hit the jackpot. Medical Equipment for example, that’s big money, hospitals are always, upgrading their equipment. You can sell medical equipment to 3rd world countries for example, they could use it. Or maybe to new doctors offices starting out. Remember this is another form of direct advertising, and the more someone reads a letter, the more they will remember it.
2. Storage Units, here is a little unknown fact. When someone fails to pay their month storage unit bill, the storage unit has the right to auction all the contents in one auction. So check your local papers, for times and places, by law storage unit companies must place an add notifying the public of such an auction. IF you are to go to one of these auctions, you are not allowed to look through the contents, you are only allowed to bid on all the items as a whole.
3. eBay, most people only go on eBay to buy stuff for themselves or maybe for a gift. You can actually find real great products to sell as well. First look for auctions that go off at the middle of the night for example. Here is a big one look for misspellings on eBay, that link is very cool and you’ll be amazed at what you can find.
4. Look for closeout stores, going out of business stores. You can always, always find really great deals at going out of business sales. Not to mention Garage Sales, Rummage Sales, Flea Markets, all represent great opportunities to find a hidden gem. Keep in mind always look for what sells, avoid buying junk.
5. Trade Show are really great places to find new products, not to mention a place were you can get great deals. You can get good deals, mainly because you are face to face with someone, and use a little negotiating skills. Secondly you can find products that you can be very unique, and you can work out a deal to be the sole retailer of a certain product.
6. If you are looking for wholesale products, go straight to the source. If you want to sell infinity speakers (ex.) call infinity and see what it takes to buy wholesale products through them. You can in most cases get a better price going to the source, rather than working with a middle man. Most wholesalers will drop ship as well.

Once the customer or bidder clicks to check out your page, This is were your listing should make sense and be able to sell the customer to buy your item.

2. Use words that the Search Engines will Recognize, use words that pertain to your item. This is a key point, if you put in the right keywords, eBay, Google, Yahoo, all of these search engines will recognize your listing. Have you ever looked on Google for something and you come across the item you wanted, and its a link to eBay!

3. A title doesn’t have to make sense. Your title when you read have doesn’t have to flow like a sentence. Fill it up with keywords for ex. you maybe be selling a Female Mannequin your title might look like this( Female Mannequin form Manequin, Manikin) You are adding 3 different ways to spell Mannequin, this will give you a better chance to get that customer to find you and hopefully check out your auction page.

4. Don’t Use all CAPS LOCK, Lot of people find this to be rude. Instead CAPS lock your KEY words that YOU are trying to IDENTIFY!

This is more pleasing and will help your title stand out!

5. Before you come up with your title, search your item on eBay as if you are looking to buy your item. This way you’ll be able to find the necessary keywords you should use. You have to think like a customer, at times to be successful.

6. Before each auction you want to list, write down the keywords you want to use. Then use the best of the bunch to fill in your title, you have 55 characters to use – so use them. Use the tips I provided above and you should drive more traffic to your listings!

7. Use spell check, Make sure your words are spelled correctly. If not you will not achieve the sales that you want!
